Temperature control
Be sure to achieve the optimum temperature when making your candles.
There are various types of thermometers you can use from Infrared to glass baking/candy thermometers, we find the candy thermometer or the simple digital thermometer does the trick.
It is vital that the wax is not overheated at all, and that the fragrance is added at the optimum temperature, as well as poured into the container at the optimum temperature. Be sure to follow the recommended temperatures on each of the wax pages.
This will ensure that your candles have a smooth top finish and will help limit con-caving.
Instructions:
Always stir the wax before taking a reading, as the wax at the bottom of the container will always be hotter than the top, so this ensures an accurate reading.
We recommend to do this about 3 times to make sure the readings are consistent.
Read instructions on proper usage for each type of thermometer
